Ertil, Voronezh Oblast
Ertil (Russian Эртиль ) is a town in Voronezh Oblast (Russia) with 11,387 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The city is located in the central part of the Oka -Don plain about 225 km east of the Oblasthauptstadt Voronezh at the same Ertil (also Great Ertil, Bolshaya Ertil ), a tributary of the opening into the Don Bitjug.
Ertil is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons.
The town is the terminus of a 30 kilometer long branch line ( freight only ), which branches off at the station Oborona of the railway Grjasi -Volgograd.
History
Ertil arose in 1897 in connection with the construction of a sugar factory in the country seat Ertilskaja step ( Ertil - steppe ) of Count AF Orlov. In 1963, the city charter was granted.

Culture and sights
The city has a museum of local history. To the former ducal country seat extends an arboretum.
Economy
In addition to the sugar factory, there are more companies in the food industry as well as smaller companies for equipment construction.
