Brambory

Brambory ( German Brambor ) is a municipality with 110 inhabitants ( 2006) in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers north east of the city Čáslav at the foot of the Iron Hill, is the Okres Kutná Hora. The Katasterfläsche is 117 ha

Geography

The street village is located on the western edge of the Iron Mountains ( the Iron Mountains ) in river level Doubrava in 234 meters above sea level. M. In the west the Čertovka flow, runs south of Koukalecký is rybnik.

Neighboring towns are Morašice in the north, Krasnice in the northeast, Litošice in the east, in the southeast Semtěš, Bile Podolí Zaříčany in the south, Bojmany in the southwest and Svobodna Ves in the West.

History

That in the 13th century as Brandenburg village was first mentioned in 1412 and 1437 Bramburk called Bramburky. The name is not derived from a castle, since nowhere in the area the remains of such can be detected, but points to settlers from Brandenburg. In the 18th century, the modern spelling was in use, which has nothing to do with potatoes, which are also identified in Czech Brambory.

Near the village, the forest house Védralka was built around 1800, which belonged to the rule Žehušice and was developed into a hunting lodge to the park was created with a deer park. Furthermore, was at Koukalecký rybnik the settlement Koukalka. 1786 held in Weißpodol, Brambory and Koukalka hand-weaving in the manufacturing plant feeder. Other source of income was agriculture, in the cultivation of potatoes actually played a big role. After the abolition of patrimonial Brambory was in 1850 part of the patch Weißpodol in Tschaslauer district.

Koukalka that belonged also to Weißpodol, 1850 was destroyed by fire. Its corridors are now part of Brambory.
