Breuchotte

Breuchotte is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Breuchotte situated at an altitude of 335 m above sea level, 7 km east-northeast of Luxeuil -les- Bains and about 34 km northeast of the town of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the northern part of the department, in the western foothills of the Vosges, in the Talniederung both sides of the Breuchin, near the confluence of the Raddon.

The area of ​​4.37 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the plateau landscape criss-crossed by valleys on the western edge of the Vosges. The northern border is the Alluvialniederung of Breuchin, mostly north of the river. The flood plain is on average 330 m and has a width of approximately one kilometer. From the north, here ends the Raddon.

From the lowlands of Breuchin, the municipality's area extends southward over a thickly forested steep slope down to the adjoining plateau of the Grand Bois. It is constructed from crystalline bedrock. With 422 m find the highest mountains of Breuchotte is achieved. This plateau is bounded on the east by a tributary of the Breuchin in which a series of ponds located, which were created for fish farming.

Neighboring communities of Breuchotte are Raddon -et- Chapendu in the north, Amage and La Bruyère in the east, Esboz -Brest in the south and Froideconche in the West.

History

In the Middle Ages Breuchotte belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The local government had held the Lords of Faucogney. Together with the Franche -Comté reached both villages with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Today is Breuchotte Member of the comprehensive 13 villages municipal association Communauté de communes du Pays de Luxeuil.

Attractions

The castle was the end of the 19th century, built by the family Forel, owner of two mills in the village. Also from the 19th century comes the Lavoir whose roof is supported by numerous columns. It once served as a laundry and watering cattle.

Population

With 310 inhabitants (2007 ) Breuchotte one of the smaller towns in the Haute- Saône. The previous high with respect to the number of inhabitants reached Breuchotte in 1876 with 567 residents. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century, only relatively small fluctuations were recorded since the mid- 1970s.

Economy and infrastructure

Breuchotte was early an embossed by the two weaving village. Addition, however, the agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry had an important meaning. Today, there are some establishments of local small businesses. In recent decades, the village has also changed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the larger towns in the region Luxeuil.

The village is situated away from the larger passage axes on a secondary road that leads from Raddon after Lure. Further road links exist with Saint- Sauveur and La Bruyère.
