Brian Shenton

Brian Shenton (* March 15, 1927; † 9 May 1987) was a British sprinter.

Career

In February 1950 came at the 4-by- 110- yards - season of the British Empire Games in Auckland the English team in the cast Les Lewis, Shenton, Nick Stacey and Jack Archer silver behind the Australians. The end of August won at the European Athletics Championships in Brussels Shenton the 200 - meter dash in 21.5 seconds with 0.3 seconds ahead of Frenchman Etienne Bally, who won the 100 -meter run. At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 Shenton reached over 200 meters semi-final, left there but for 21.9 seconds. The British relay was fifth in 40.6 seconds.

Brian Shenton was 1.75 m tall and weighed in his playing days 70 kg. At the age of 60, he died as a result of a traffic accident.
