Bříství

Bříství ( German Brzistew, 1939-45 Ulmenau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north of Český Brod and belongs to fulltext your real estates.

Geography

Bříství located at Kounický creek on the Bohemian panel. Northeast of the village rises the hill Břístevská Hůra (240 m) and in the northwest of Rabakov (202 m). North leads past the highway E 11 / E 67, Bříství is located just off junction 18

History

The first written mention of the village was in the year 993 The Romanesque church was built in the mid 13th century and remodeled about a hundred years later Gothic. At the beginning of the 17th century acquired Maria Magdalena von Lobkowicz the Good Bříství and joined it to the reign Kounice.
