British Somaliland parliamentary election, 1960

Parliamentary elections were first held in the British colony of Somaliland in February of 1960.

The result was a clear victory for the Somali National League, which won 20 of the 33 seats in the Legislative Council. Today's Somaliland, which is not recognized internationally, sees himself in the tradition of these elections.
