Brügglen

Brügglen was until December 31, 2013, municipality in the district Bucheggberg the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland. On 1 January 2014 merged with the former municipalities Brügglen Aetigkofen, Aetingen, beavers, Gossliwil, Hessigkofen, Küttigkofen, Kyburg, mill village and Tscheppach the new community Buchegg.

Geography

Brügglen is located on 547 m above sea level. M., 8 km south-southwest of Canton main town of Solothurn (air line). The scattered village extends on a plateau of the eastern Bucheggbergs, south of Mühletals, in the Solothurn Plateau.

The area of ​​1.7 km ² large municipality area includes a portion of the Molassehöhen of Bucheggberg. The central part of the region is the high plateau of Brügglen, which descends towards the north- east to a Seitentälchen of Mühletals. South of the plateau includes the forest height Ämit on which 620 m above sea level. M. the highest point of Brügglen is achieved. To the north of the municipality of soil over the central portion of the Mühletals extends to the back of the forest Änerholzes (up to 555 m above sea level. M. ), which separates the Mühletal from Biberntal. From the municipality surface 1997 accounted for 5% on settlements, 40 % of forest and shrubs and 55 % to agriculture.

To Brügglen the hamlet Blumenrüti include (542 m above sea level. M. ) on the plateau east of the village as well as several individual farms. Neighboring communities of Brügglen were up on December 31, 2013 Lüterkofen- Ichertswil, Küttigkofen, Kyburg, Aetingen, mill village and Tscheppach.

Population

With 206 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) Brügglen one of the small communities of the Canton of Solothurn. Of the residents 98.9 % are German, 0.5 % Italian-speaking and 0.5 % speak Turkish ( as of 2000). The population of Brügglen amounted in 1850 to 181 residents in 1900 to 188 inhabitants. During the 20th century, a slight decrease in population was a total registered. Since 1980 (139 inhabitants) a significant increase in population was recorded again.

Economy

Brügglen was until the second half of the 20th century, mainly coined by farming village. The water power of the mill Bach was formerly used for the operation of a mill, which, however, was not rebuilt after a fire in 1909. Even today, the farming and fruit growing and cattle breeding have an important place in the economic structure of the population. Some other jobs are in the local retail industry and the services available, including an electrical shop. In recent decades, the village has developed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who work mainly in the regions of Solothurn and Bern.

Traffic

The community is located off the major thoroughfares on a road from Bätterkinden after mill village. By Postbus course which from the station serves the route wage Lüterkofen after Schnottwil, as well as by the Paratransit Bucheggberg Brügglen is connected to the network of public transport.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1248 under the name Bruglon; of 1323 the name Brügglon is preserved. The place name comes from the Middle High German word back Brueghel, a round timber that you used to take for fixing a path.

Since the 13th century Brügglen was under the rule Buchegg that was part of the County of Burgundy country, acquired in 1391 from Solothurn and was converted to the Bailiwick Bucheggberg. Until 1798, the high court was the Bernese district court Zollikofen while Solothurn with the Aetingen of court exercised the lower courts. After the collapse of the ancien régime (1798 ) was one Brügglen during the Helvetic Republic to the district Biberist and from 1803 to the District Bucheggberg. Brügglen does not have its own church, it belongs to the parish Aetingen mill village.

Attractions

The Ofenhüsli was built in around 1800 and served the population for baking bread. After a restoration in 1986, it is used today occasionally again. In the center some characteristic farmhouses from the 18th and 19th centuries have been preserved.
