Buick LaCrosse
The Buick LaCrosse is a sold since 2004 under the American automobile brand in North America Buick four-door sedan with front-wheel drive. It replaces the previous Buick Century and Regal models.
In Canada, the model under the name Buick Allure is offered. For the Canadian market, according to the journal Car & Driver renaming was necessary after it was discovered that the term LaCrosse means " masturbation " in the dialect of Quebec.
The first-generation LaCrosse was introduced in spring 2004 as a 2005 LaCrosse.
The model replaced the two types Buick Century and Regal. The LaCrosse is a front-wheel drive, which was only available with automatic transmission. Many driver of the Buick Regal were initially disappointed that many of the features of the shelf in LaCrosse were not available. Gradually, all optional equipment of the shelf were of Buick, however, except for the retractable exterior mirrors also introduced the LaCrosse.
The model LaCrosse 2008 was presented in the summer of 2007 - it is this is a facelift with bulligerem chrome grille ( "waterfall grille "). That same year, the LaCrosse Super was introduced. This was positioned as a high-performance variant features a 5.3 liter small-block V8 with 226 kW.

It is heavily based on the concept of the Buick Invicta and based on the General Motors group Epsilon II platform that also forms the basis for the Opel Insignia. The new LaCrosse in competition with the United States in the very popular Lexus ES occurs according to the company.

In China
In China, Shanghai -GM builds its own since 2007 LaCrosse, which is certainly related to the first-generation U.S. model, but on a completely independent body and has other engines ( 2.4-liter with 125 kW/168 hp or three-liter V6 with 131 kW/176 hp).
The prices amounted (as of February 2008) 217000-300000 yuan (about 21000-29000 € ).
