The Federal Highway 62 ( Abbreviation: B 62) is one of the longer federal roads across the center of Germany. It runs from west to east through the states of Rhineland -Palatinate, North Rhine -Westphalia, Hesse and Thuringia.
History
Construction of each section:
From Alsfeld there was an essentially Altstrasse " by the short Hesse " in parallel, on the heights above the present highway.
Course
The B 62 begins at the B 256 at Roth in the northernmost tip of Rhineland -Palatinate, some 50 km east of Bonn.
The road winding along the headwaters of the victory. After 38 km, the B 62 exceeds the border to North Rhine -Westphalia and arrives shortly after victories (42 km). Here she is from Siegen- Rinsenau as urban motorway flyover and expanded (see also: Hüttentalstraße ). It goes through the Rothaar.
After 93 km the border is crossed by Hesse in Wallau (Lahn ), and the road reaches Biedenkopf (99 km). On the now slightly southeast running distance across Oberhessen to the city of Alsfeld B leads 62 the name of two major holiday routes: on the track along the upper reaches of the River Lahn between Bad Laasphe and Marburg, it is part of the Lahn -Ferien- road, on the rear Kirchhain (134 km) following thirty kilometers, it is piece of the German Fairy Tale Road.
From Alsfeld (164 km) to the osthessische Bad Hersfeld (203 km) the road goes slightly to the northeast. At kilometer marker 224, the road passes the border of Hesse, Thuringia.
Next follows the route to Bad Salzungen (241 km). After six kilometers, the B 62 reached their goal and strikes Barchfeld on the B 19 Here also the Nature Park begins Thuringian Forest.
The total route length of 62 B is 247 km.
New construction and expansion
Construction of the B 62 in Siegen
As part of the completion of the Hüttentalstraße B is currently under construction 62 as dual carriageway between Mudersbach - Niederschelderhütte and Siegen- Rinsenau new. The zoning decision has become final since 4 March 2010. The groundbreaking ceremony on April 29, 2010, the construction works were officially begun. The current route goes from Niederschelderhütte coming through the heavily polluted localities Siegen- Niederschelden and Siegen- Eiserfeld to HTS junction Rinsenau. Also located in Niederschelden often a closed railroad crossing the victory track. With the completion of the new line, the old route is to be downgraded to the country road.
Construction and installation of the B 62 in Bad Laasphe
For a long time planned is a bypass for the center of Bad Laasphe. As politicians and the public for decades can not agree on the route of this road, a construction is still not in sight. For 2012, the maps were simply NRW has announced the B 62 to trace out in the local situation Saßmannshausen new, so that traffic can bypass the two crossings on the Upper Lahn Valley Railway.
Local bypass chain in Hesse
According to the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan ( FTIP ) of the complete expansion of B 62 is planned between Bad Laasphe / border with North Rhine-Westphalia and the A5 in Alsfeld. First, the local bypass Biedenkopf was opened to traffic. Currently, the bypasses Eckelshausen and Göttingen ( Lahn ) are planned. For the remaining bypasses the plans are not yet added.
Track laying of the B 62 to Bad Salzungen
In planning, there is a path laying the main road between the current expansion at the end of Bad Salzungen towards Barchfeld. This section is also called Werra crossing. Due to significant intervention in a natural environment is worth protecting fought for the best possible solution between cost and nature conservation since the early 1990s. The planners would preferably reach due to the cost a dam that conservationists due to the presence of the corncrake a spacious possible bypass of the sensitive area with a large bridge structure.
From Barchfeld B is to run 62 together with the B 19 through the already largely completed new route on the route of the former kingdom of highway route 85 past Wernshausen after Niederschmalkalden.
Extension of the B 62 to A 71 Suhl / Zella- Mehlis
It envisages an extension of the B 62 Schmalkalden to Zella- Mehlis to the A 71 The currently under construction new link road to Schmalkalden as laying the road L 1026 should be used to it. Related to the current road L be developed in 1118 as a B 62 with numerous bypasses until after Benshausen. Would object to thereby better connectivity of the business location Schmalkalden to the A 71 and the discharge of lying villages along the route from through traffic. As a completion date is specified by the Thuringian Ministry of Transport, 2015.
Between Benshausen and the motorway A 71 Suhl / Zella- Mehlis, the former Federal Highway 280 has been renamed to B 62.
