Geography

Geographical Location

The municipality is located on the upper Lahn Lahn valley about 83 kilometers north of Frankfurt and about seven kilometers northwest of Marburg.

History

Ahead of municipal reform in Hesse joined on 31 December 1971, the previously independent municipalities Caldern ( with the former municipalities Caldern and Kernbach ) and Sterzhausen to a community with the name Lahn together. On 1 July 1974, the municipality was Lahn Valley ( with the former municipalities Goßfelden and Sarnau ) together with the municipalities Brungershausen, Göttingen and Lahn rock to a community with the name of the Lahn valley.
