Canton of Lurcy-Lévis
Lurcy -Lévis is a canton of the arrondissement of Moulins in Allier in the Auvergne region of France. It includes nine municipalities, the capital is Lurcy -Lévis. Representatives in the conseil général of the department since 2001, Jacques Bourdier.
History
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 with the establishment of the departments as part of the then " district Cérilly ". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the district Cérilly was dissolved and associated with the new district of the Canton of Moulins and re-cut.
Geography
The canton is bounded on the northwest by the Canton Sancoins in the arrondissement of Saint- Amand- Montrond in the department of Cher (Centre), in the northeast of the Canton of Saint- Pierre -le- Moûtier in the arrondissement of Nevers in the department of Nièvre ( Bourgogne), in the southeast of Canton Moulins- Ouest, on the south by the cantons and Bourbon l'Archambault Souvigny and to the west by the canton in the Arrondissement Cérilly Montlucon.
