Carlos Batres

Carlos Alberto Batres González ( born April 2, 1968 in Guatemala City ) is a Guatemalan football referee. He was appointed on 1 January 1996 for FIFA referee and directed his first international match on October 27, 1996 by and between Panama and Canada during qualifying for the World Cup 1998.

Since then, he has conducted various games in major international tournaments, club competitions, World Cup qualifications and Summer Olympic Games. Also for the Football World Cup 2006 Batres should be divided. He had the fitness test during the course assistant referees - the end of March, however cancel because a suffered in December 2005, cruciate ligament rupture was not yet completely healed. Two years later, he attracted attention when he during the match between New England Revolution and CF Atlante (1-0 ) in the Super League in 2008 from the 85th minute six players in the course referred to " mass confrontation " of the field. FIFA chose the Guatemalans as a referee for the soccer World Cup in 2010. In this he is supported by Leonel Leal from Costa Rica and Carlos Pastrana from Honduras as linesman.
