Carsten Schlangen

Carsten Schlangen ( born December 31, 1980 in Meppen ) is a German middle distance runner. His greatest successes came over 1500 meters, but is also frequently over 800 and 3000 meters at the start. He was Vice-European Champion in 2010.

Life

By 2005, launched snakes for SV Meppen Union. He then moved to the training group of Roland Wolff at the LG North Berlin. In spring 2011, snakes completed his architectural studies at the TU Berlin. Currently he is working alongside his sporting activity as an architect in Berlin.

Since 2006, snakes celebrated numerous national championships over 1500m. His biggest international success achieved snakes before, when he took second place at the European Championships in Barcelona in July 2010 after the Spaniard Arturo Casado. In 2011, he finished fourth at the European Indoor Championships. In addition, snakes participated at the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008 and London 2012. Here he reached the semi-finals respectively. With his best time of 3:33,64 min, situated in Bottrop July 6, 2012, snakes lies in the eternal German leaderboard in sixth place (April 2013).
