Chen Xinhua

Chen Xinhua (Chinese陈新华, Pinyin Chén Xinhua, born January 30, 1960 in Fujian, People's Republic of China) is a native of China and since 1990 antretender for England table tennis player and Continental from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s several medals at world championships won. He also won in 1985 at the World Cup tournament. In the 1990s, he also played in the German Bundesliga.

Career in China

Until about 1987, Chen Xinhua played under the Chinese flag. His first major international success was winning the Asia Cup 1978 with the Chinese men's team, he also reached the semifinals in singles. He was nominated for four World Cups from 1981 to 1987. Here he won in 1985 and gold in 1987 in the team competition. In mixed with Tong Ling he reached the finals in 1981 and 1983, failed in 1985, the couple in the semifinals. The greatest World Cup success in individual he celebrated in 1987 when he finished third.

1985 Chen Xinhua won the World Cup. In the ITTF World Ranking end of 1986, he finished in fourth place.

Career in England

From 1987 to 1997, Chen Xinhua was living in England. In 1990, he took on British citizenship, which entitled him to start under the English flag. He even took part in the World Championships 1991, 1993 and 1995. Private

Chen Xinhua moved in 1987 to England, where he married an Englishwoman. With her he has one child. After the end of his career, he returned back to China in 1997, where he worked as a merchant and a hobby is playing golf.
