Reviews

" Snappy dialogue, sneaky phrases, malignant compliments, which are the manners in the circle of aging courtesans, which keep each other company, because the other company, publicly at least, not to associate maintains with them - and that's besides the costumes and the magnificent equipment, the whole harmless attraction of " Chéri ". "

" Gorgeous equipped, elegantly shot and well staffed by a still charming Michelle Pfeiffer and a wonderfully moody Rupert Friend in the leading roles, Chéri offers dialogue wit, elegance and lightness that matches its ample flow of champagne in this film in anything."

" Michelle Pfeiffer is so great and beautiful and dignified, that she would bring each hollywoodianischen obsession with youth advocates easily silenced - mature ladies give off and often the better pictures the better stories. And Frears revels in costumes and dresses that a pass over the eyes. "

" Cheri is one thing above all: elegant. This applies to the decor and costumes as well as the narration. Already in the opening credits sums up a speaker with a smug tone of the historical highlights of the Kurtisanentums together, outpacing a rhetorical marksmanship arise indicating that later continues in the dialogues.
