The Chicago Rockford International Airport ( IATA: RFD, ICAO: KRFD ) is the airport of the city of Rockford, Winnebago County in the U.S. state of Illinois. It is located 8.6 kilometers south of the city of Rockford and 139 km north- west of Chicago. The airport is owned by the Greater Rockford Airport Authority, a joint venture between the city of Rockford, Winnebago County and the municipalities of Machesney Park and Loves Park. The airport is used for general aviation in the region in northwest ahead of the Chicago metropolitan area.

Location

The Chicago Rockford International Airport is located on the Rock River in the center of the metropolitan area of ​​Rockford about 35 km south of the Wisconsin border.
