Chris Therien

Christopher Bowie Therien ( born December 14, 1971 in Ottawa, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played during his playing career 1994-2006 for the Philadelphia Flyers and Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League. At the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, he won the silver medal with the Canadian National Team.

Career

Therien began his career in 1988 in his hometown of Ottawa at the Ottawa Junior Senators in the Canadian Junior Hockey League. For this, he played in the 1988/89 season, some games and started the season 1989/90 there. About the high school team of the Northwood Huskies, where he played until the summer of 1990 in the U.S. state of New York, the defender came to the U.S. college system. The defender, who had been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1990 in the third round to 47th by the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, then moved to Providence College.
