Ciro Polito

Ciro Polito ( born April 12, 1979 in Naples) is an Italian football goalkeeper.

Club career

Ciro Polito 1997 received a professional contract with his club and then second division club Salernitana Sport, but could not prevail against the local goalkeeper Daniele Balli and his representative Andrea Ivan himself. The following season he was loaned to Rimini Calcio and gathered there match practice in the fourth division. In exchange for Lorenzo Squizzi he moved in July 1999 to U.S. Lucchese Libertas, which were previously relegated to the third division. There Polito was until the winter break five times used, but goalkeeper Marco Ambrosio remained. In January 2000 he was awarded the AC Mantova and completed 12 league games until the end of the season. From 2000 to 2002, the goalkeeper played for third division side U.S. Avellino and in subsequent periods of one year for the league rivals AC and AC Pistoiese Acireale.

2004 Ciro Polito committed by second division club Calcio Catania, as but Armando Pantanelli, which should be first-choice goalkeeper in the following years. Two years later, Catania managed by a second place in the promotion to Serie A, Italy's top division. There Polito came on 26 November 2006 in a 2-0 victory over Parma once used. In the second round he was awarded in exchange for Vitangelo Spadavecchia to the second division Delfino Pescara 1936, but could not prevent their relegation to the third tier. After his return to Catania Calcio, he untied the migrated Pantanelli from the goalkeeper. Under the former Italian international goalkeeper Walter Zenga as the new coach of Catania, however, was the veteran Albano Bizzarri again in 2008 the preference. Again was a player exchange and Polito moved on loan to U.S. Grosseto. In return came Paolo Acerbis from the second division to Catania.

After his return Polito left in 2009 Catania final and moved to his youth club Salernitana Calcio. There he was indeed set keeper, but conceded 80 goals and has been with his club knocked Table Serie B. He joined with his club the aisle third in the league and was to continue during the winter break in the gate. In the second round he was ousted by the free transfer committed Nicholas Caglioni on the bench. Despite reaching the ascent Games Salernitana received no further license for the third league and had to file for bankruptcy. Ciro Polito left the club and was a two-month Vereinslosigkeit obliged by Erstligaaufsteiger Atalanta goalkeeper Andrea Consigli after had suffered an injury.
