Claudia Waldi
Claudia Waldi (nee Engels, born July 29, 1964) is a former German rower, the 1985 world champion in the lightweight four without coxswain and the 1991 and 1992 world champion in the lightweight double sculls.
Waldi won, than in 1984 were extended in Ratzeburg first German Championships in the lightweight single sculls, behind Evelyn Herwegh the silver medal. Subsequently, she was nominated for the World Championships in Montreal, where they control without wife went with Herwegh, Regina Mayer and Beatriz cellar in the lightweight four at the start and won. Since the lightweight boat classes of women were also introduced new here, but the race had only the status of a demonstration competition.
Also in 1985 won Waldi, the rowed for the Heidelberg rowing club at the championships in the lightweight four. 1987 Waldi was both in four and in the light double sculls with Zobeley German champion. In 1991, Waldi in the lightweight double sculls. Together with Christiane Weber was German champion and also won at the World Championships in Vienna. In 1992, Waldi at the German Championships in both the light one and again in the double sculls with Weber, at the World Championships in Montreal, they were also able to defend their world title.
