1997 World Rowing Championships
The World Rowing Championships 1997 were held from August 31 to September 7, 1997 on the Lac d' Aiguebelette near the town of Chambery, France under the rules of the International Rowing Federation ( FISA ). In 24 boat classes while rowing world champions were determined.

Here are the medal winners from the A- finals are listed. These were filled with six boats that had to qualify through pre-and hope runs and semi-finals for the finals. The track length was 2000 meters in all runs.
