2001 World Rowing Championships

The World Rowing Championships 2001, held from 19 to 26 August 2001, at the Rotsee in Lucerne, Switzerland under the rules of the International Rowing Federation ( FISA ). In 24 boat classes while rowing world champions were determined. The competition took 931 athletes in 320 crews from 50 nations participate. The fourth staging of the World Rowing Championships in Lucerne after 1962, 1974 and 1982 took place the last time without a boat classes in the handicap rowing, which were only introduced to the World Rowing Championships in 2002 in Seville.

Here are the medal winners from the A- finals are listed. These were filled with six boats that had to qualify through pre-and hope runs and semi-finals for the finals. The track length was 2000 meters in all runs.
