1999 World Rowing Championships

The World Rowing Championships 1999 were held from August 22 to 29 1999 at the Martindale Pond in St. Catharines, Canada, under the rules of the International Rowing Federation ( FISA ). In 24 boat classes while rowing world champions were determined. The competition took 944 athletes in 350 crews from 56 nations participate. The second edition of the World Rowing Championships in St. Catharines after 1970 was also the main qualifying competition for the Olympic Rowing Regatta in Sydney in 2000.

Here are the medal winners from the A- finals are listed. These were filled with six boats that had to qualify through pre-and hope runs and semi-finals for the finals. The track length was 2000 meters in all runs.
