1962 World Rowing Championships

The World Rowing Championships 1962 were held on the Rotsee near Lucerne. It was the first World Rowing Championships ever. The titles were awarded in the seven Olympic boat classes, rowers and lightweight rowers were not at the start.

Since the International Rowing Federation FISA only allowed an all-German team had in all classes of boat the rowers from the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic unsubscribe an elimination race against each other: In six classes of boat, the boat of the Federal Republic of Germany qualified.
