Cocapata Municipality
The municipality Cocapata is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

The municipality Cocapata is one of three (until 2009: two) Municipalities of the province Ayopaya. It is bordered to the west by the department of La Paz, on the southwest by the municipality of Morochata, on the southeast by the provincial Quillacollo, on the east by the province of Chapare, and the north by the department of Beni.

Geography
The municipality Cocapata lies between the Cordillera del Mazo Cruz and the Cordillera Tunari, a northwestern section of the Cordillera Oriental. The climate is a typical diurnal climate, in which the temperature fluctuations between day and night be more pronounced than between seasons.
