Comberjon

Comberjon is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Comberjon situated at an altitude of 244 m above sea level, about 5 km northeast of the town of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the central part of the department, a slight increase in a niche on the southern flank of the Durgeon, at the northern foot of the plateau of the Bois de Frotey.

The area of ​​3.57 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the area of ​​the hill country between the basin of Vesoul and the level of Lure. From northeast to southwest, the area is crossed by the valley of the Durgeon, which provides for drainage Saône. The stream here flows with multiple turns through a 500 -meter-wide flood plain, which is on average 220 ​​m.

Flanked the valley on the north west side of the height of the Fanicamp. To the southeast of the communal land extends over a steep slope up to the plateau of the Bois de Frotey. It consists of resistant limestone of the Middle Jurassic time. With 383 meters, the highest elevation of Comberjon is achieved in the Bois de Frotey. While the Talniederung is used for agriculture, prevails on the plateau forest.

Neighboring communities of Comberjon are Colombier in the north, Montcey in the east, Frotey -lès- Vesoul in the south and Coulevon in the West.

History

Is first mentioned Comberjon in the year 1316. During the Middle Ages the village belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The local government had held the Lords of Montaigu. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. To a field change occurred in 1808, merged with the neighboring community as Comberjon Colombier to the municipality of Colombier- et- Comberjon. Since 1842, both communities are independent again. Today Comberjon is a member of the 19 localities comprehensive community association Communauté de communes de l' agglomà de Vesoul.

Population

With 175 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Comberjon one of the small towns in the Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1896 186 persons were still counted ), was re- recorded a population growth from 1968 to 2000. Since then, there is again a slight downward trend.

Economy and infrastructure

Comberjon was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. Today, there are some establishments of local small businesses. In recent decades the village has been transformed into a residential community. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the agglomeration Vesoul.

The village has good transport links. It lies on the main road N57, which runs from Vesoul Remiremont. Another road connection with Montcey. Comberjon has a station on the railway line from Belfort to Vesoul. A part of the runway facilities of the regional airfield Vesoul - Frotey on the plateau of the Bois de Frotey is located in the municipality.
