Description

For recording the LP Crime of the Century Supertramp came together in their success Cast ( for the first time ). Furthermore, the band included their two remaining charter members, composer and singer Rick Davies (keyboards, harmonica, vocals) and Roger Hodgson ( guitars, piano, electric piano, vocals). In addition, now joined by John Helliwell (saxophone, clarinet, flute, backing vocals ), Bob Siebenberg (drums, percussion) and Dougie Thomson (bass guitar). The group was therefore still active as ( umbesetztes ) quintet.

As a guest musician ( for the first time in the band's history ) acted as: a string group led by Richard Hewson, Scott Gorham ( Thin Lizzy ), Christine Helliwell and Vicky Siebenberg (all three backing vocals ) and Ken Scott ( water - gong). Scott, who had previously worked for David Bowie and The Beatles, acted as co - producer.

All songs were written by Davies and Hodgson, who sang their works each self. Many of these songs are still played at the Supertramp concerts ( School Bloody Well Right, Rudy and Crime of the Century ). All, with the exception of If Everyone Was Listening appeared later on the 1980 live album Paris.

In the following year the album was released Crisis? What Crisis?.
