As with the pop - jazzy previous album, " Free as a Bird" Supertramp delivered with " Some Things Never Change " again a rather jazzy and also bluesy style of music with some jazzy - funky accents from where Davies ' staccato -like electric piano game - as in the decoupled as single "You Win, I Lose " - remained as the band's trademark. Some songs, like "It 's a Hard World," the theme song " Some Things Never Change " and " Sooner or Later ", contain long instrumental passages with brass and electric piano sounds. A nice bluesy work is " Help Me Down That Road ". Hit- character gained no song.

With some songs of the album " Some Things Never Change " and many Supertramp classics in their luggage, the band went on tour, from the 1999 live album It Was the Best of Times emerged.
