Geography
The small spa resort is located in the roof mountain Hotze forest in the Black Forest on the west side of Albtals in 543-1105 meters above sea level. The roof mountain landscape is characterized by different large plateaus that slope terraced downgraded to the south. Most districts are at such high levels. An exception is the district Oberkutterau which is in the Alb valley and mountain from roof is only accessible via roads of the neighboring town of St. Blaise with the car. The Horbacher Moor is a nature reserve, here lies the monastery pond.
63 % of the municipal area consists of forest.
Neighboring communities
The municipality is bordered to the north and east to the city of St. Blaise, on the south by Albbruck, on the southwest by Görwihl and to the northwest by Ibach.
Structure
The church roof mountain was created in 1971 from the previously independent municipalities Urberg, Wittenschwand Wolpadingen and Wilfingen and its numerous hamlets. The name Dachberg goes back to a common domain names for centuries.
History
The settlement of today's municipal area was in the 11th century in part from the St. Blaise monastery, partly by secular lords like the men of deep stone. The many small villages and hamlets are mostly originated from individual farms. For centuries belonged to the northern part of the church today, especially the district Urberg, for 'zwing and spell of St. Blaise "; the southern part was the " union Wolpadingen " of the county of Hauenstein. The border ran through the village Wittenschwand. Both areas were part of Further Austria. In 1806 they came to the newly created Grand Duchy of Baden.
Today's church roof mountain ( Southern Black Forest ) was formed on 1 January 1971 by the Association of Municipalities Urberg, Wilfingen, Wittenschwand and Wolpadingen.

The council are after the local elections of 7 June 2009, in addition to the mayor as chairman, 13 members, of which a mandate is a mandate compensation. The election resulted in a turnout of 68.8 % ( - 2.5 ) the following result:
Management
The church roof mountain belongs to the Gemeindeverwaltungsverband St. Blaise. The seat of the municipality is located in the district Wittenschwand.
Sports
1968 FC Dachberg was founded in 1968 eV, which competes with two men's soccer teams in the county league.
Economy
Agriculture plays a minor role more, in 2007 there were eight commercial farms and 66 part-time farmers. The majority of workers earned their living outside the community. Several craft workshops ( carpenters, electricians, masons, carpenters, plumbing, car repair services companies, metal processing, etc.) and service provider ( accountant, lawyer, architect, planning office for building system technology, trucking companies, etc.) account for about 70 jobs in the community. In addition, there is tourism, which in the broadest sense, including catering provides about 30 jobs. Dachberg counts yearly around 45,000 overnight stays, of which 28,000 tourist origin. There are about 500 beds available. 17,000 nights go on permanent campers back at the campsite, second homes, youth campground, Business and church recreation and conference centers as well as family visits. Dachberg is since January 1, 2012 one of the four members of the tourism cooperation HOLIDAY SÜDSCHWARZWALD the spa and resorts Höchenschwand, Roof Mount, Weilheim and Ibach. It is also founded on July 1, 2012 Tourism Cooperation HOLIDAY WORLD SÜDSCHWARZWALD, consisting of the 14 places Albbruck, Bad Säckingen, Bernau, Roof Mount, Görwihl, Herrischried, Höchenschwand, Ibach, Laufenburg, Murg, Rickenbach, dead moss, military and Weilheim.
Events
Since 1953, the International Dachberg Gymnastics Festival is held annually, a mountain sports festival on the roof of a mountain, which attracts athletes from Germany and neighboring countries. Since 1996 takes place on the sports ground in forest Wolpadingen place every year the Kohlenmeiler hard. Customs Köhler build an Original Black Forest Round pile on, set it on fire and let it char controlled. The cabbage harvest takes place at a later date after cooling.
