Dammartin -les- Templars is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Dammartin -les- Templars is 415 m, 19 km east-northeast of the city of Besançon ( straight line ). The village is located in the Jura, on a slight hill on the so-called first plateau, a broad basin at the southern foot of the Jura - edge chain ( Cote ).

The area of ​​9.91 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. The main part of the area is occupied by the wide first Jura plateau. 400 m above sea level on average M. lies. History

Since the early 13th century was Dammartin site of a Templar Coming, which was dependent of Besançon. Also in Fay (2 km south of the village ) was a Templar branch, which was abandoned before 1373. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France. To avoid confusion with other municipalities of the same name Dammartin in 1922 officially renamed Dammartin -les- Templars.

Attractions

The present church was built by Dammartin 1742. Get in the Chapel Notre- Dame de Fay. The village is characterized by different farmhouses in the characteristic style of the Franche -Comté from the 17th to 19th centuries.

Population

With 204 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Dammartin -les- Templars is one of the small communities of the department of Doubs.
