Dannemarie (Doubs)

Danne Marie, unofficially also called Danne Marie- lès- Glay, is a village in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Danne Marie is located 486 m, about 16 km southeast of the town of Montbéliard (air line). The village is located in the northern Jura, in a tributary of Doue (source Bach of England ), close to the border with Switzerland, at the northern foot of the altitude La Combay.

The area of ​​2.25 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the northern French Jura. The main part of the area occupied by the basin of Dannemarie that is drained northward to Doue and thus to the Doubs. The slopes around Dannemarie are divided by various valleys and gullies. Flanked the valley in the northwest of the planted with arable and meadow land plateau of Mont Beulchy ( 545 m), in the south of the forest slopes of the Combay, at the 671 m with the highest elevation of Dannemarie is achieved. History

Dannemarie is first mentioned in the 13th century. It developed alongside a priory that was abandoned with the introduction of the Reformation (1541 ). Since the Middle Ages the village belonged to the rule Blamont and came in 1506 under the protection of the Counts of Montbéliard. As part of the rule Blamont, which formed one of the four gentlemen of the Principality of Montbéliard and was annexed in 1699 by France, Dannemarie 1748 came contractually finally to France. Today, the village belongs to the municipality of Communauté de communes Association des Balcons du Lomont.

Population

With 108 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Danne Marie is one of the smallest municipalities of the department of Doubs. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1886 194 persons were still counted ), a population growth was recorded since the early 1960s again. Since 1990, the trend is again slightly.

Economy and infrastructure

Danne Marie was well into the 20th century, a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) embossed village. Even today, the inhabitants live on the merits of the activity in the first sector. Outside of the primary sector, there are few jobs in the village. Some employed persons are also commuters who do their work in the agglomeration Montbéliard.

The village is located far away from the major thoroughfares. The main access is from Glay; a narrow street leads to Villars -les- Blamont. The nearest links to the A36 motorway is located at a distance of about 16 km. The station Danne Marie- Velesmes is located on the railway line Dole - Besançon - Belfort.
