Danny Trejo

Danny Trejo [ tɾexo ] ( born May 16, 1944 in Echo Park, Los Angeles as Dan Trejo Junior) is an American actor of Mexican descent and predominantly performer of villains and anti-heroes.

Life

Danny Trejo was born as the son of a construction worker Dan Trejo and his wife Alice Rivera in Los Angeles. His youth spent Danny Trejo, due to various robbery and drug offenses, mainly engaged in various prisons. Overall, he sat in a period of eleven years in prison again and again. For a longer stay in San Quentin State Prison, he discovered his talent for boxing. He won the lightweight and welterweight championship of the prison. His hopes of a professional career, however, were zunichtegemacht by his long imprisonment.

After he had completed a rehabilitation program for drug addicts, he continued to work in support of this program and gave several speeches about his past. In one of these speeches, he met an employee of a film studio, who asked him later about his support for the film express to hell. He was supposed to only work as an extra for the film. Because it but one of the screenwriters knew from his time in San Quentin and knew of his Boxtalent, he was hired as a boxing coach for the lead actor Eric Roberts. Here, then Andrei Konchalovsky, the Director was led, attentive to Trejo and offered him a bigger role than Roberts' Boxgegner in this movie.

This brought Trejo on the taste, and he left his life of crime behind him finally to break into the film business. Since then he has played with some of the most famous Hollywood stars together. His scarred face, his mustache and his tattoos have become his trademark.

Danny Trejo is married and has three children. He is a cousin of director Robert Rodriguez, who regularly puts him in his films as an actor. For Rodriguez Trejo played including the Machete Cortez in all four Spy Kids films as well as in the liabilities arising from the figure films Machete and Machete Kills. In machete he had his first starring role.
