Dathan Ritzenhein

Dathan Ritzenhein ( born December 30, 1982 in Grand Rapids, Michigan) is an American long distance runner.

Dathan Ritzenhein has a competition weight of 55 kg at a height of 1.70 m. He is married to the long-distance runner Kalin Toedebusch, with whom he has a daughter.

Career

He celebrated his first international success with the third place in the junior race at the World Cross Country Championships in 2001 in Ostend.

In 2004 he took part in the Olympic Games in Athens on 10,000 - meter race, but had to retire due to an injury the race. In 2005 he won among others the U.S. championships in cross-country running.

In 2006, he debuted at the New York City Marathon on the marathon distance. He finished in a time of 2:14:01 h eleventh place. In 2007 he won the Healthy Kidney 10K.

At the World Athletics Championships 2007 in Osaka, he finished ninth in the 10,000 -meter run. On November 3, 2007, he secured the U.S. elimination race for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in a time of 2:11:07 hours in second place behind Ryan Hall a starting place in Beijing. There, he finished as the fastest American in a time of 2:11:59 h ninth place.

In 2009, he reached in the U.S. Half Marathon Championships in a personal best of 1:01:35 hours behind Mebrahtom Keflezighi second place.
