David E. Jeremiah
David Elmer Jeremiah ( born February 25, 1934 in Portland, Oregon; † October 7, 2013 ) was an American admiral of the U.S. Navy, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and managers.
Biography
After school he studied business administration at the University of Oregon and graduated with a Bachelor of Science ( BS Business Administration). A subsequent post-graduate studies in Financial Management at the George Washington University, he finished with a Master of Arts ( MA Financial Management ). During his military career in the U.S. Navy he was on September 30, 1987 as commander of U.S. Pacific Fleet Admiral and retained the post until February 15, 1990.
Following this, he was on 1 March 1990 Deputy Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff ( Vice Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff ) and held until his retirement on 28 February 1994 this function. As such, it was after the premature retirement of General Colin Powell from 1st to October 24th, 1993 acting Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
After retiring from military service, he joined the private sector and was CEO of Wackenhut Services, Inc. since 2002. Besides, he was member of the board of Alliant Techsystems in 1995, the Todd Shipyards Corporation 2003 and the defense contractor ManTech International in 2004 and was also a board member of Geobiotics, Inc., In-Q -Tel and the arms company Litton Industries. He was also President of Technology Strategies & Alliances Corporation since 1999 and trustee ( Trustee ) of the MITRE Corporation.
