Derek Joslin

Derek Joslin ( born March 17, 1987 in Richmond Hill, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for AIK Stockholm in the Svenska Hockey ligands on the position of the defender since July 2013.

Career

Joslin started his career in the 2003/04 season at the Aurora Tigers in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League, a junior league division club. With 30 points in 68 games the offensive defender completed a successful rookie season, which meant that he was in the fifth round selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005 to 149 out of the San Jose Sharks. For the 2007/08 season Joslin finally moved firmly into the professional and worked on immediately secured a regular place in the Worcester Sharks defense and completed all 80 season games. With 34 scorer points - including ten goals - in his first professional season, he was the second best defensive player of his team on the offensive, but belonged to the second largest negative plus / minus value of all the players to the weaknesses on the defensive. In the 2008/09 season, in which he was appointed one of the assistant captains to Joslin's values ​​on the defensive improved significantly, what his offensive efficiency but did not suffer. His performance increase was rewarded in January 2009 with the first appeal and the debut in the National Hockey League. Joslin came but rarely inserts, after which he was transferred on 18 February 2011 to the Carolina Hurricanes.

On July 5, 2012 Joslin signed a contract with the Vancouver Canucks. A year later, the contract ran out and joined Joslin as a free Agnet for AIK Stockholm.
