Detelin Dalakliev

Detelin Dalakliew (common transliteration Detelin Dalakliev, Bulgarian Детелелин Далаклиев; born February 18, 1983 in Pleven ) is a Bulgarian boxer. Dalakiev was bronze medalist of the 2003 World Championships and the Boxeuropameisterschaften 2004, silver medalist at the European Championships in 2006 and 2008, world champion in 2009 and participant in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and 2012 in London. Since 2010, he's fighting for Memphis in the World Series of Boxing.

Career

Detelin Dalakliew, who began as a teenager with boxing dominated, almost a decade the Boxgeschehen in Bulgaria bantamweight. He belonged to the Boxklub BK Levski Sofia Luchano. He boxed during his entire career in the bantamweight, the weight category to 54 kg body weight, he was exceptionally large for this weight class with a size of 1.70 meters.

After winning the Bulgarian Junior Championship 2001, he represented his country at the Junior European Championships in Sarajevo. Sies was his first start in an international championship. He cut this same very successfully, because behind the Russian Gennady Kovalev and the Ukrainian Roman Nikolov, he won the European Championship bronze medal.

2002 Detelin Dalakliew was first used in an international championship of seniors. He slapped his case at the European Championships in the Russian city of Perm excellent and reached Bantamweight a good fifth place.

In 2003, he was with a win over Karen Musaelian Bulgarian champion in the seniors. At the World Championships the same year he succeeded in Bangkok equal another great success, because he won there with wins over Ali Hallab from France, Taillab Kapiealiew from Kyrgyzstan and Thongdang Klongjan from Thailand and one defeat in the semi-final against Agassi Mammadow from Azerbaijan, in turn, a bronze medal.

In the year 2004 came at the European Championships in Pula added equal another success: Dalakliew again won a bronze medal. In the semifinals he was beaten by Gennady Kovalev here, against whom he had already lost at the Junior European Championships 2001. Then in 2004 he succeeded in the championship of the European Union in Madrid a title. He defeated it in the semifinals and the finals Ali Hallab Bedak Zsolt from Hungary. At the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 he managed a victory over Abel Aferalign from Ethiopia. In the second round he was defeated, however, against Agassi Mammadow which he retired and with the losers came to 9th place in the second round.

In 2005 Dalakliew repeated his success in the championship of the European Union from the previous year in Cagliari. He won there fight for victory over Daniel Enache from Romania by termination in the second round. But at the World Cup this year in Mianyang he lost his first fight in the same round of " 32 " against the Americans Gary Russell Jr. and therefore came with all losers this round only to 17th place.

In the 2006 European Championship in Plovdiv is Dalakliew fought victories over Tschawazi Tschatsigow from Belarus, Ali Hallab ( 46:43 points ), Joseph Murray from England and Mirsad Ahmeti from Croatia to the finals before. In this, it was not given the chance to become European champions because he was defeated by Russians Ali Aliev by points ( 24:36 points).

In 2007, he came at chemicals Cup in Halle ( Saale) also in which he was subject to the final, the German veteran Rustam Rakhimov on points. Then he picked up in Dublin with a win over Denis Makarov from Germany for the third time to win the European Championship. At the 2007 World Championships in Chicago but he fared as in the World Cup 2005. He lost there again in the round of " 32 " against Ali Hallab and therefore in turn came only to 17th place.

As he had thus not qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing, he tried at the beginning of 2008, to qualify for tournaments in Pescara and in Athens for the games. Both times it failed him, however. In Pescara, he came to a defeat against John Nevin of Ireland on the 9th Place and in Athens he lost again against Ali Hallab and got away with it only on the 5th Place. Both placements were not enough for a Qlympiaqualifikation.

After this disappointment, but he pulled himself together in the fall of 2008 again and reached at the European Championships in Liverpool with wins over Dennis Ceylan from Denmark, Martin Parlagy from Slovakia and Andrew Selby of Wales again in the final. However, it was again not European champions, because in this final, he defeated the locals Luke Campbell on points. This defeat, however, was extremely scarce, because at equal scores of 5:5 at the end of battle decided the so-called auxiliary points in favor of Campbell.

2009 succeeded Detelin Dalakliew at the World Championships in Milan, then the biggest success in his career. He was there with six wins world champion in Bantamwewicht. It is worth noting was especially his superior semi-final victory over the Cubans Yankiel León. In the final battle he defeated the Russians Eduard Absalimow just 5-3 hits.

With this success in the back Dalakliew won a tournament in 2010 Yambol and sovereign Bulgarian Cup, but disappointed at the European Championships in Moscow, he was eliminated in the first battle against the Turks Furkan Ulas Meniz (2-0).

Also at the European Championships 2011 in Ankara Dalakliew was with wins over Rahim Najafov, Azerbaijan ( 16:11), and Dennis Ceylan, Denmark ( 18:12 ) and a quarter-final defeat due to injury against Veaceslav Gojan, Moldova only 5 in the case of the World Championships That same year he won after beating David Michelus, Poland ( 17:9 ) and Omurbek Malabekov, Kyrgyzstan ( 16:14) and a defeat to eventual runners from England Luke Campbell ( 12:8 ), also the 5th place and secured thus a quota place at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

In preparation for the Olympic Games Dalakliew participated in two tournaments with participation of other Olympic athletes in Sofia and Belgrade, in part, where he among other things, against Ibrahim Balla, Australia ( 11 11 ) won and lost against the World Champion in 2011 from Cuba, Lázaro Álvarez ( 15:8 ).
