Dettighofen, Switzerland

Dettighofen located in the canton of Thurgau in the lake ridge in the district Steckborn. From 1803 to 1997, there was a separate municipality within the former Munizipalgemeinde Pfyn. Since 1998 it belongs to the political community Pfyn.

East of the village was located in the middle ages a castle of Ebinger. The rapping Steiner built in the village, a castle, which is now used as a school house.

The most important source of income in Dettighofen was until the mid- 1990s, the agriculture, especially fruit growing. Since then, more workers have found a job in the industry ( SMEs).
