Didier Sénac

Didier Sénac ( born October 2, 1958 in Saint- Denis ) is a former French footballer, who now works as a coach.

As a player

Club career

The athletic, energetic central defender played in 1977 for the Erstdivisionär RC Lens, to whom he remained loyal, as this (1978 /79) was for one season only second-rate. The Dress of the Northern French had already taken his father Guy, who was also used in the 1960s at Racing Paris and also in the national team. In 1988, Didier Sénac to Girondins Bordeaux and remained seven years regulars there. Although the Girondins a variety of internationals in their ranks had - among other Tigana, Battiston, Dropsy, Lizarazu Genghini, Stopyra, Bell, Deschamps and Zidane - remained a runner-up in the 1989/90 season the best placement during Sénacs long career.

Also in the cup competitions he remained a title denied: a total of eight times (four times with lens, three times with Bordeaux, once with Créteil ) he failed with his clubs in the National Cup quarter-finals once (1980 /81) in the semifinals. In the UEFA Cup, he retired five times in the second round, and although three times with Bordeaux ( including 1983/84 against Karlsruher SC ) and twice with Lens ( here 1977/78 against 1 FC Magdeburg ). In 1995 he moved to second division side FC Toulouse, 1996 U.S. Créteil in the third division, where he was almost 40 -year-old ended his players time in 1998. In the National Team

At the Olympic football tournament in 1984 Sénac was, together with his comrades Lenser Brisson and Xuereb to the French master lineup. Not used due to an injury in the final, he nevertheless could then accept his gold medal. In November of the same year he played in the 1-0 against Bulgaria the first of his three A- international matches for France; he also wore in December 1984 (2-0 against East Germany ) and October 1987 ( 1-1 against Norway) the blue dress.
