Disney Digital 3-D

Disney Digital 3 -D is a trademark of The Walt Disney Company for digitally animated 3D movies that are only projected digitally. Essentially, this is a Disney brand for RealD Cinema technology. Disney Digital 3 -D is not one of RealD, but is solely a production method. RealD, XpanD 3D, MasterImage and Dolby 3D are all Vorführtechnologien that are used to play back 3D movies.

Disney Nightmare Before Christmas published three times in a remastered 3D version, for the first time on 20 October 2006, then on 19 October 2007 and finally on 24 October 2008. Moreover, Disney also released 3D versions of Meet the Robinsons and the two concerts Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of both Worlds Concert and Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience. Launched in September 2009 animated film Up was the first production of the Pixar Studios in Disney Digital 3 -D. Pixar's other films Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were first shown to the public in October 2009 (USA ) as a double feature in 3D. On 18 June 2010 was followed by Toy Story 3, the Germany start of this film took place on July 29, 2010. Also the film Tron: Legacy, which started off on 27 January 2011, was shown in this format.

Confusion

Disney Digital 3 -D is not a presentation format. Movies that are advertised as being in " Disney Digital 3 -D", can be used in any digital 3D format are shown, including RealD, Dolby 3D, XpanD 3D and MasterImage. Nevertheless, Disney advertises all Disney Digital 3 - D movies, as if it were a self-developed and independent 3D format.
