Dohma

Dohma is a municipality in the district of Saxon Switzerland & Eastern Ore Mountains to the south of Saxony. The municipality is an administrative community with the county town of Pirna.

Geography

The community Dohma located about 3 km south of Pirna. The municipality is located on the plateau or on the valley slopes between the Bahretal and the Gottleubatal.

Local structure

The municipality Dohma include the three districts Dohma, Cotta and Goes, as well as the district Dürrhof. The district is divided into large Cotta Cotta ( cotta A) and small Cotta ( cotta B).

History

The village Dohma was founded in the 14th century. The first mention of Waldhufen village was in 1315 as " Domyn ".

The B172 runs north of the community. The community is also accessible via the A17, which is on the Pirna connection (about 4 km). Passing through the municipality the highway 173, which runs from Pirna to the Czech border at Bahratal.

From 1894 to 1963 Dohma had a station on the railway line Pirna large Cotta, which served primarily as a connection path of the sandstone quarries in Lohmgrund. From 1894 to 1935, and again from 1945 to 1957 operated on the route passenger trains.

By public transport Dohma is accessible by city bus line Z, and by the regional bus lines 207 and 219 of the Oberelbischen transport company Pirna- Sebnitz mbH. The district Cotta is reachable via lines 207, 209 and 219. Contrast, has the district Goes on no public transportation system.

  • Plaque on his house Weinleite Ranked # 19 for the Communists, Walter Richter, who was shot in cross -border resistance struggle by a Nazi patrol 1935.
