Do not You ( Forget About Me) (English for "Forget Me Not" ) is a song by Scottish rock band Simple Minds in 1985, which was written by Keith Forsey. The song is part of the soundtrack to the film The Breakfast Club.
Genesis
Keith Forsey and Steve ship composed Do not You ( Forget About Me) for the soundtrack to the movie The Breakfast Club by John Hughes. First, the song Bryan Ferry and Billy Idol was offered, but refused a picture. After the success of Sparkle in the Rain Forsey offered the song after the Simple Minds, which grossed him after some initial hesitation in the studio. The song was, like the entire soundtrack, produced by Forsey. It was released both on the soundtrack to the film as well as a single of the band. As a B-side for the single Simple Minds chose their own composition A Brass Band in African Chimes, which was produced by Steve Lillywhite. Do not You ( Forget About Me) appeared on any studio album by Simple Minds.
Billy Idol took the song in 2001 in their own version, which appeared on his greatest-hits compilation.
Music Video
The director of the music video by Daniel Kleinman. At the beginning of the video clip you can see Jim Kerr in a dark room with a chandelier. Then it is bright in the room. One sees a rocking horse and a Sony TV that shows parts of the film The Breakfast Club.

Do not You ( Forget About Me) was released in February 1985 worldwide and increased in the U.S., Canada and the Netherlands at number 1 on the charts.
In the charts, the single on 13 May 1985 to 20 October 1985, represented a total of 23 weeks, with the best placement in 4th place for 1 week.
