Döschnitz
Döschnitz is a municipality in the district Saalfeld- Rudolstadt, in Thuringia. The municipality belongs to the administrative community median Schwarzatal, which has its administrative headquarters in the municipality seat village.

Geography
Döschnitz, the state-approved resort is situated in the valley of the White Sorbitz in the Thuringian Forest Nature Park.

History
The origin of the colonization of Döschnitz is unknown, but there is evidence that the place already at the time of the early Slavic settlement in the Thuringian Forest clearing was begun in the 9th century. The first mention of the place, but was only as Tschitz in the year 1422.
