Dumitru Moraru

Dumitru "tete " Moraru ( born May 8, 1956 in pantelimon ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. The goalkeeper played a total of 434 games in the Romanian Divizia A and the Norwegian Tippeligaen. As an international, he took part in the European Football Championship 1984.

Career

Moraru began his career with his hometown club Metalul Bucharest in Divizia B, the second- highest Romanian league. In his first season, the 1972/73 season, he was a regular player of Metalul and reached the semi-finals with the club in the Romanian Cup. In the same year he missed the rise just behind Politehnica Iaşi. After the climb had been missed in the following season, he was given the opportunity to switch to Romanian giants Steaua Bucharest.

With Steaua Moraru his debut in Divizia A. announced on August 25, 1974 as the successor of Carol Haidu, who had ended his career in 1974, he was in competition with Vasile Iordache, without that one of the two longer over a period as was able to maintain a regular player. Before Moraru the club in 1978 left for local rivals Sportul Studenţesc, he won the Romanian Cup in seasons 1975/76 and 1977/78.

With Sportul Moraru was in Divizia A not build on the successes of previous years, but was undisputed goalkeeper. In the league it was enough "just" to placements in the upper middle, internationally could the club in 1979 to decide the Balkans Cup for themselves.

After three years Moraru changed again to a national top club, when he joined in 1981 Dinamo Bucharest. He could assert itself immediately as a goalkeeper. In the other seasons, he had to stand with Dinamo behind the rivals Steaua.

After Moraru had lost in the 1988/89 season his place to Bogdan Stelea, he left the club in 1989 and moved on to league rivals AS Victoria Bucharest. Again, he did not come as expected for the course. As had been the club as a result of the Romanian Revolution disbanded in early 1990 by the new rulers, he moved to Norway to Start Kristiansand. He finished his career after the 1991 season.

National

Moraru played 39 games for the Romanian national football team. He made his debut on 24 September 1975 friendly match against Greece. Due to the huge competition in the battle for a place in the Romanian gate he came over the years infrequently used. While he initially fought a duel with Necula Răducanu and Steaua his teammates Vasile Iordache, he had to later deal with Gheorghe Cristian Silviu Lung and. In 1982 and 1983 he was the new coach Mircea Lucescu for goalkeeper and secured his country's qualification for the European Championship 1984 in France. Coaching career

After his playing career was Moraru coach in the youth sector of the Romanian Football Federation. Under Anghel Iordănescu he was also five years goalkeeping coach at the Romanian national team. He then coached the keeper at Dinamo Bucharest and from January 2001 Cosmin Olăroiu FC Naţional Bucharest. In 2002 he returned to the national team, but when Victor Piţurcă was appointed as the successor of Anghel Iordănescu the new Romanian national team in December 2004, this brought his own coaching staff with. Moraru was in the spring of 2005 for three months goalkeeper coach for the second team of Dinamo Bucharest and then followed together with four other Romanian caregivers Iordănescu to al -Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. In January 2006, the contract was terminated early with Moraru after six months and the goalkeeper coach returned to Romania. There he first took over tasks again in the youth sector of the Romanian Football Federation, before accepting an offer as goalkeeper coach of the second team of Dinamo Bucharest in July 2007. Since 2011 he has been goalkeeper coach of the Romanian U15, U16 and U18 national teams.

Awards

On 25 March 2008 Moraru was " sporty Meritul " III by Romanian President Traian Basescu for the services as goalkeeper coach of the national team with the Order of Merit. Class excellent. He is Master of Sports and Merited coach.
