Eastern Østfold Line

The Indre Østfoldbane, also Østre linje (German eastern line) of the Østfoldbane, has its starting point in the ski station, from where it runs southeast through Askim by Mysen. There it turns south and runs in a southwesterly direction from Rakkestad Sarpsborg, where it meets the western range of Østfoldbane. The eastern route was completed in 1882 and 2007 was 125 years old.

In 2006, the security systems have been revised on the track.

The Passagierzugbetrieb on the route will be operated by local trains as line 560. The trains usually run only until Mysen, only in the rush hour drive a few trains continue to Rakkestad. Between Rakkestad and Sarpsborg no regular passenger service longer takes place, but the track is still used for freight trains or passenger trains diverted.
