Unterehrendingen (Swiss German: Ääredinge, æ ː rədiŋ ː ə ) is a municipality in the district of Baden in the canton of Aargau. It is located three kilometers northeast of the main town and district was created on 1 January 2006 by the merger of the municipalities Oberehrendingen and Unterehrendingen, who had split in 1825.

Geography

The village is situated at the northern foot of warehouses in a tributary of the Surb. The warehouses is the north-eastern foothills of the Jura Mountains. History

Individual findings prove that the area had been already settled north of the warehouses during the Neolithic and the Bronze Age. The first mention of Aradingin place in the year 1040. The name comes from the Old High German Arinratingun and means " among the people of Arinrat ". In the 11th century, the monastery Einsiedeln acquired large estates. The monastery Unterelchingen, near Ulm in 1150 exchanged his possessions to the monastery of Saint Blaise. Over time, the monastery Wettingen took a dominant position. Unterehrendingen is on the main road 17 between Doettingen and Dielsdorf, side roads lead to Baden and Freienwil. The village is accessible by two post car lines that run from the Baden train station to Doettingen or after Emperor chair.
