Elevate is the second studio album by American boy band Big Time Rush. It was released by Columbia Records in the association with Nickelodeon. The album was released three days earlier in Germany than in the United States.

Backgrounds and appearance

In the making of the album Big Time Rush worked with producers like JR Rotem, The- Dream, Jay Sean and Ryan Tedder. The production of the album lasted between nine months and one year. The band spent most of it during their U.S. tour on the album.

On June 6, 2011 Big Time Rush announced that there would be a second album. The first promo single If I Ruled The World appeared as early as June 22, 2011. Initially you had November 15, 2011 viewed as the release date of the album, but this changed on November 21, 2011. On 14 October 2011, it was announced that the album be released three days earlier in Germany, so on November 18. Thus, November 18, 2011 was the release date of Elevate, but you could already hear the album on Simfy a week earlier, so already from the 11th November 2011. The album was named after the song Elevate what " rise " in German means. The fact that the album will be called Elevate, Kendall Schmidt announced in an interview. At first it was planned that the song Intermission in the album will be available this remote but then again. The official track list of Elevate was published on 21 October 2011 at U.S. magazine Celebuzz. The second and final promotional single Music Sounds Better With U then appeared on 1 November 2011.

In the U.S., three specials were shown for Album: The Music Video of If I Ruled the World was shown on July 23, 2011 on Nickelodeon. The music video for Music Sounds Better With U was titled " BTR: Music Sounds Better With U " then shown 12 November 2011 on Nickelodeon. The third special was a thirteen - minute film titled " Big Time Rush: Music Sounds Better With U " in which scenes from their first U.S. tour and were shown the four band members were seen during the recordings on the album. In Germany so far was only the music video for Music Sounds Better With U under the same title as in the U.S. 13 November 2011, so a day later than in the USA, shown on Nickelodeon.

Overall, wrote the four band members, collectively or individually, to eight of the thirteen songs, which the previous studio album BTR only on the song Oh Yeah was the case.

Commercial success

In the first week of release, the album sold 79,900 times internationally, of which 70,000 copies in the U.S. alone. However, the album debuted in the U.S. at number 12, while at BTR already 3rd place was. In Germany it rose to number 33 and was only a week on the charts, as well as in Switzerland, where it debuted at number 76. Despite everything, Elevate sold in the U.S. in the first week more than BTR ( 66,000 sales).

Better With U Tour

From 17 February to March 9, 2012 Big Time Rush represented the album on the Better With U Tour. She went mainly by the United States, but held a concert in Canada. On the tour was the British band One Direction, who came third Patz in the British version of X Factor, the opening act.
