Emblem of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic

The coat of arms of the Lithuanian SSR was available from 1940-1990, in the period of existence of the Lithuanian SSR as a constituent republic of the Soviet Union.

The coat of arms has a round shape. At the top of a red star is depicted, which is to represent the membership of the communism and the hand of the liberated people of the classless society. Left and right of the coat of arms entwine Wheat ears and green bushes in the middle of the emblem. In the middle in gold hammer and sickle, which are symbolic of the communist state policy. Under the hammer and sickle is a rising shining golden sun.

The ears of wheat are covered by a red band at the bottom. In the middle of the band is in the Latin letter L T S R ( fully Lietuvos Respublika Tarybų Socialistinė, German "Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic ").

On April 10, 1990, it was replaced by the new coat of arms of Lithuania.
