History

The name Emmer Tings to go back to a Germanic name Ehemut. On the run from the Huns to Ehemut has settled with his tribe in the area of ​​today's community Emmerting. He lived with his family in the "Villa Rustica ", which still exists today. Emmerting was first mentioned in 815 as " marriage brave " in a barter agreement of the Bishop of Salzburg documented. Emmerting belonged to Rentamt Burghausen and the district court Neuoetting of the Electorate of Bavaria.
