Geography

Geographical location

Pleiskirchen located in the hills of the wood country, 15 km north Altöttings. The municipality is the northernmost and largest area municipality in the district Altötting. It borders the district Mühldorf in the West and the Lower Bavarian district Rottal -Inn in the East.

History

Pleiskirchen belonged to Rentamt Burghausen and Regional Court Neuoetting of the Electorate of Bavaria. The Archbishopric of Salzburg exercised but by the umpire shaft Pleiskirchen until its abolition in 1803 of the lower courts about his local subjects.

The second Gemeindeedikt 1818, the municipalities Pleiskirchen, Nonnberg Geratskirchen II were built ( since 1956 Wald b. Winhöring ) and harrowing at the current Pleiskirchner municipality. After the last municipal election on March 2, 2008, the Municipal Council 14 members, all of which belong to a faction CSU / Independent. The turnout was 71.8 %. Another member and chairman of the municipal council is the mayor.
