Ephraim is a male first name, which goes back to the tradition of the biblical tribe of Ephraim.

Origin and Meaning

The name Ephraim (Hebrew אֶפְרַיִם Ephraim ) comes from Hebrew and means " doubly fruitful ". The Bible refers to as the younger son of the patriarch Joseph. Although prevalent since the Reformation, the name was popular in Germany ever and is now very rare.
