Epic (2013 film)
Epic - Hidden Kingdom (AKA Epic, English for epic ) is an American computer-animated action comedy film from the year 2013 in 3D. Directed by Chris Wedge. It was produced by Blue Sky Studios, the screenplay was written by Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember. The release date for the United States was the 24th May 2013. In Germany, the film was released on 16 May 2013.
Action
Mary Katherine ( MK) visited after a long time her father, Professor Bomba, who lives with his dog Ozzie in an old house in the woods. His life is devoted to the slightly unworldly professor Bomba the exploration of small creatures, the protectors of all living creatures of the forest. Had seen Professor Bomba these beings but not yet. Finally, his search leads to his daughter to her parents' house would leave early.
Just down the road, it follows, however, her dog Ozzie, who runs into the forest. There she discovers Queen Tara, who was hit by Mandrake during a robbery of Boggans fatal. Queen Tara uses her skills to MK to shrink and gives her the bud, which is supposed to guarantee the continued existence of Leafmen. Shortly thereafter, the Leafmen join the dying Tara and MK before.
M. K. helps Leafmen now the bud to protect Mandrake before accessing and at the same time looking for a way she comes back to her world again. With the help of Leafmans Nod and the Leafmen leader Ronin finally manages to bring the bud to bloom.

The German synchronization was performed by the Berlin firm of film & TV sync. The dialogue was directed by Axel Malzacher.

Soundtrack
Danny Elfman composed the music for a film, which was released on May 28, 2013 Sony Classics. Beyoncé Knowles sang on the song " Rise Up ," which she co-wrote with Sia Furler. The song was released as a digital single and as part of the digital version of the soundtrack. With the exception of the first Ice Age film (2002, composed by David Newman) is it is the first time that the film music was not composed for a film of Blue Sky Studios by John Powell.
